Operations Managers want to know how their staffing levels and organizational frameworks compare to others in the industry. But it's a hard question to answer, since no two firms are identical. How much money do they manage? What types of assets do they manage? What's the profile of their client base? How much of the operations function is outsourced? These factors all have an impact on the answer.

In this current benchmarking study we have set aside our usual CutterBenchmarking Capability Model to gather key metrics that compare firms in terms of their Investment Operations staffing levels and organizational structure.

Participants will be asked to answer questions in the following categories:

  • Firm Profile - Basic information about your firm's AUM, asset mix, product offerings, and types of clients to help us identify similar firms.
  • Operations Staff/Organization - Key questions about your Operations organization, structure, functional alignment, etc.
  • Investment Staff/Organization - Breakdown and structure of your Front Office staff to give us an indication of how they relate to the Operations organization.
  • IT and Investment Systems - Information about the investment systems your firm uses so that we have another means of identifying similar firms.

To find out how you compare to your industry peers, we encourage you to take part in the study. The more responses we receive, the more comprehensive the results will be. As always, Cutter Associates will take the utmost care to protect the identity of all participants by anonymizing all response data.
