Shankar Subramanian has over 25 years of industry experience in investment management and technology solutions. Shankar has a deep understanding of investment data management, portfolio management, risk management, investment accounting, and alternative investments. At Cutter Associates, he heads the Risk and Compliance practice, helping client with investment risk management, and asset allocation, as well as providing support for compliance with consulting on trading forensics, communication surveillance, regulatory reporting, and guideline compliance. He advises on, and designs, operating models, selects systems, and implements business and technology solutions. He also leads development of Cutter’s alternative investments practices and the firm’s efforts to provide thought leadership and strategic and tactical advice to asset owner clients.
Prior to joining Cutter, Shankar held senior roles at IBM Global Services and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), advising clients and leading global delivery teams in large engagements. Shankar holds a Bachelor of Science in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and an MBA in finance and information systems from the Indian Institute of Management.
Mike Cook is a Vice President in the business transformation team for BBH Investor Services. In this role, he is responsible for managing technology implementations designed to constantly improve the services BBH offers to our clients. His main areas of focus include artificial intelligence, robotic process automation, and data visualization.
Joseph G. Pennini, Jr. currently serves as the Global Head of Fund Accounting & Fund Administration. Within the scope of his remit, he oversees the production and product responsibilities of the following suite of offerings: Fund Accounting, Financial Reporting, Expense Administration, Corporate Secretary Legal Administration, Regulatory Support, Performance Measurement and Portfolio Compliance. During his 20+ years at Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH), Mr. Pennini has overseen full service relationships with focus on US RICs, Cayman Trusts, Luxembourg and Irish domiciled accounts. He was previously responsible for the product strategy oversight of Fund Accounting & Fund Administration and has held positions in our Client Service discipline as well. Mr. Pennini continues to serve as a senior relationship oversight contact for number of our key client relationships. Mr. Pennini began his career at the firm in June 1999 as a Fund Accounting Client Account Manager. Mr. Pennini received his B.S. in Business Administration from Boston University.
Kevin Welch is responsible for the Workforce Transformation & Shared Services disciplines within BBH Investor Services. In this role, Mr. Welch manages a process engineering team that identifies and implements business and technology solutions with the goal of constantly improving the services BBH offers to our clients. He is also responsible for developing and executing our globalization plan, operational strategy and relationships with outsourcing partners.
Mr. Welch joined BBH in 2004 and previously served as the Head of Service Delivery and the Head of Custody, Markets and Client Service in Krakow. He was instrumental in establishing the Krakow office. Mr. Welch began his tenure at BBH in Boston within Corporate Actions, and later became the department head for the division.
Mr. Welch has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
