FinTech Editor

Cutter Associates is seeking a skilled FinTech Editor to support the production of our Investment Operations and Technology research.  As content is originated by research analysts, the Editor will be responsible for reviewing the content and finalizing the production for online and hard-copy production.

Responsibilities include:

  • Editing and production of all research reports and presentations related to Asset and Wealth Management technology, operations, and trends

Consultant (US)

Cutter Associates is looking to hire Consultants who have 5- 10 years of direct experience in technology solutions and operations within an asset manager or within the investment division of other financial services-type companies.

A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in investment management operations and technology in one or more of the following areas:
    • front-office to back-office processes or systems
    • system selection and implementation
    • data management, data warehousing, architecture, and reporting
    • trade generation, order management, trade communications, settlements, and portfolio accounting
  • Experience working with leading Order Management Solution and/or investment accounting vendor packages.

Consultant - Client Reporting

Cutter Associates is seeking Investment Management Professionals with strong client reporting experience to support us on a variety of Client Communications related consulting projects.

Client Communications is a growing part of our overall Client Facing Practice here at Cutter Associates.   In this practice we advise Asset Managers in the areas of distribution, marketing, client service, consultant relations, product development and client reporting on their most critical strategic challenges and opportunities.  We are seeking motivated, client reporting experts to help us redesign business models, modernize processes and help our clients make sense of existing and emerging technologies available and enable them to use it to complete their goals.

You can live anywhere within the US and should be available to travel approximately 70%- 80% of the time.

Cutter Associates supports investment management firms through a powerful combination of three interrelated services: Consulting, Benchmarking, and Research. We have ongoing relationships with over 240 asset managers, asset owners and asset servicers in the US, EMEA and Australia. Cutter currently has offices in a suburb of Boston and in London.

General Responsibilities

  • Successfully complete client projects though meeting client goals, timelines and budget requirements
  • Review client documentation and interview project participants to identify their issues and challenges
  • Proactively manage communications with the client during a project

 

Specific Client Reporting Responsibilities

  • Prepare clients for implementation of client reporting or presentation preparation technologies
  • Gather existing reports and presentations and analyze the data within (i.e. components, sections, templates)
  • Prepare the client data for a vendor (i.e. name of data element, data source, format, frequency available)
  • Interface with project managers, client reporting and marketing SMEs, and IT staff as well as software vendor(s)

 

Potential Responsibilities you may share with the team

  • Perform vendor selection and searches for specific technology and data systems where appropriate
  • Redesign client reporting components, sections & templates in advance of an implementation
  • Assist in defining changes to organizational models, modify business processes and identify a target state architecture which will address the current state issues and pain points, meet the client's specific business and technology requirements and be consistent with preferred industry practices and models
  • Assist in creation of a roadmap for the implementation of the future state

Job Requirements:

Senior Director - Consulting (Australia)

Cutter Associates is searching for an experienced, in-market Senior Director with prior consulting experience, who can play a lead role in developing a business plan for growth in Australia as we expand in the Asia/Pacific region. In addition, the Senior Director would assist our business development lead and Consulting Principal in developing and growing our consulting engagements in existing accounts. This position will also serve in a broader role as Cutter Associates Ambassador and business leader on the ground, including building and leading a team as we expand our Australia operations.

We provide consulting services to the Investment Management industry, in the areas of Enterprise Data Management, technology/systems strategy, and operational efficiency. 

Cutter is an established global firm, supporting over 200 investment management firms, both for-profit and public, through a powerful combination of three interrelated services: Consulting, Benchmarking, and Research. Having only been active in the Australian market for two years, Cutter has seen a quick uptake in its services by the market’s largest firms, with further demand being initiated by those clients. To date, the business has been managed out of Cutter’s London office.

As part of this role, the Senior Consultant would execute on consulting engagements in Data Management, warehousing and reporting as well as Technology/Operations Strategy,Target Operating Models in existing accounts.

There is also the potential to take on the broader role of building and leading a team as we expand into Asia, but for now we have consulting opportunities in Australia and need strong candidates who can work with us independently.

Senior Business Analyst

Cutter Associates LLC is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for its growing Implementation Services practice.  The Business Analyst’s primary objective is to help our clients implement investment management technology solutions in a cost-effective way using a variety of analysis techniques and project delivery practices.

Candidates can either be based in the continental U.S. and should have should have at least five years of financial services business analysis experience with exposure to any of the following business processes within Investment Operations:

  • investment risk and exposure reporting
  • portfolio management and trading
  • compliance monitoring
  • confirmation/settlement and derivative servicing and/or
  • investment recordkeeping/accounting.

 

Familiarity with investment management vendor applications is desired (E.g. Aladdin, Bloomberg AIM, Charles River IMS, LineData, Eagle Star/Pace, Market EDM/Cadis, BI-SAM, SimCorp Dimension).

Candidates should have experience analyzing business processes, developing business and functional requirements, functional testing and working as part of both agile and non-agile software development teams.
