Senior Research Analyst – Investment Operations Research and Benchmarking

Cutter Associates is seeking a Senior Research Analyst to become an integral part of our Research and Benchmarking Team, which keeps asset management firms up to speed with the most current information on investment systems, operations, strategy, and industry best practices. This is a new research position, with a focus on the trends, tools, and technologies in the asset management space

Responsibilities include developing compelling research and benchmarking studies on a variety of topics related to asset management operations and technology, and communicating analysis and trends in written reports, presentations, and client interactions. This position will be based in our Hingham, MA office.

**Please note that for this position we are NOT looking for Investment Research Analysts, rather we are looking for analysts who have experience researching and writing about current trends in technology and operations within Investment Management. This is NOT a CFA/Security Analyst position.

Key responsibilities of the position include the following:
  • Interface with software vendors, industry experts, and senior operations and IT staff of leading asset management firms.
  • Produce in-depth, high quality research and benchmarking reports on a broad set of topics related to asset management systems and operations.

Managing Director, Digital Marketing Consulting- US

Cutter Associates is seeking a Seasoned Consultant to be an integral part of our growing Client Facing practice, advising Asset Managers on their digital marketing functions, including distribution, marketing, client service, consultant relations, product development, and client reporting. We are looking for individuals with experience implementing digital marketing strategies and tools, and prior consulting experience is ideal. Experience in the Investment Management industry is a must.

*You can live anywhere in the US and should be available to travel 70%-80% of the time.

As a Managing Director, you would support our clients in their most critical, strategic, and challenging projects, including automating, streamlining, and digitizing their marketing tasks, ultimately to enhance the customer experience of their own clients. Sales and Operations Administrator

Cutter Associates, is seeking an organized, professional, and self-driven individual to support our Sales, Marketing, and Operations Teams. This is a part-time role (25 hours a week) that will focus on general administrative tasks as well as tasks supporting exhibitor sales, meeting and event coordination.  In this role, you will be responsible for some well-defined, regular tasks as well as ad-hoc projects as they arise.

Regular tasks include:

  • General Sales and Operations Administration:
    • Producing collateral for sales calls
    • Mailing and filing
    • Own weekly sales meeting in the calendar, open weekly conference calls
  • Marketing Administration:
    • Data entry for new contacts, including utilizing a business card reader and mapping data into Salesforce
    • Maintenance of sales and marketing contact information (e.g., Salesforce)
  • General Administrative Tasks:
    • Schedule periodic company-wide meetings, presentation preparation and webcast support
    • Schedule industry related vendor presentations, provide support for webcast

Member Services Support

Meetings and Events – Exhibitor Support

CutterResearch meetings are important forums for industry updates, education, and peer networking in the asset management community.  In addition to the activities above, you will be responsible for supporting all exhibitor activities at our meetings. 

Sales and Marketing

  • Work with marketing to create sponsor messaging about meetings

Senior Consultant (Australia)

Cutter Associates is searching for an experienced, in-market team member who can play a very Senior/lead role in Consulting execution in the Australian market as we expand in the Asia/Pacific region. As part of this strategic role, the candidate would assist our business development lead in developing and growing our consulting engagements in existing accounts. There is also the potential to take on the broader role of building and leading a team as we expand into Asia.

Cutter is an established global firm, supporting over 200 investment management firms, both for-profit and public, through a powerful combination of three interrelated services: Consulting, Benchmarking, and Research. Having only been active in the Australian market for two years, Cutter has seen a quick uptake in its services by the market’s largest firms, with further demand being initiated by those clients. To date, the business has been managed out of Cutter’s London office.

The candidate will reside in Australia and initially work from a home office. We will not relocate for this position.

Functional Skills

Senior Business Analyst

Cutter Associates LLC is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for its growing Implementation Services practice.  The Business Analyst’s primary objective is to help our clients implement investment management technology solutions in a cost-effective way using a variety of analysis techniques and project delivery practices.

Candidates can either be based in the continental U.S. and should have should have at least five years of financial services business analysis experience with exposure to any of the following business processes:

  • investment risk and exposure reporting
  • portfolio management and trading
  • compliance monitoring
  • confirmation/settlement and derivative servicing and/or
  • investment recordkeeping/accounting.

 

Familiarity with investment management vendor applications is desired (E.g. Aladdin, Bloomberg AIM, Charles River IMS, LineData, Eagle Star/Pace, Market EDM/Cadis, BI-SAM, SimCorp Dimension).

Candidates should have experience analyzing business processes, developing business and functional requirements, functional testing and working as part of both agile and non-agile software development teams.
