CURRENT OPENINGS

Business Development/Relationship Management Lead – Australia

Cutter Associates is searching for an Implementation Consultant who can also play a lead role in Business Development and Account Management as we expand in the Asia/Pacific region. The ideal candidate will join the Cutter business development team and sell the full suite of Cutter Associates’ Research, Benchmarking and Consulting services to the investment management industry. As well, the candidate will have responsibility for identifying, developing and executing Consulting opportunities in the region, hiring and contracting additional resources as needed. The candidate will reside in Australia and initially work from a home office. We will not relocate for this position.

Cutter Associates supports investment management firms through a powerful combination of three interrelated services: Consulting, Benchmarking, and Research. Cutter Associates has been in the Australian market for 2 years, with demand proven and growing. To date, the business has been supported out of Cutter Associates’ London office.

Key responsibilities of the position include the following:

  • Develop new business in Australia for all Cutter Associates products and services (CutterResearch, CutterConsulting, and CutterBenchmarking)
  • Engage CutterResearch and/or Benchmarking member firms on a regular basis to ensure they understand and optimize their membership benefits, and that they participate in our Research process and Benchmarking surveys; maintain watch list of any clients at risk and take action to retain
  • Identify opportunities and cross sell into CutterResearch member firms for Consulting engagements and Benchmarking subscriptions
  • Work with the global CutterConsulting team to create and deliver proposals
  • Provide oversight and implementation on Consulting engagements and when necessary evaluate candidates for project staffing
  • Participate in CutterBenchmarking presentations to accounts in your territory
  • Lead Cutter’s overview presentations for new Research and Benchmarking members
  • Document and share key insights resulting from client engagements (industry topics of interest for Research or CutterCasts, competitive information, feedback on products and services, company/individual overview and background)
  • Maintain an account plan in Salesforce.com for strategic accounts and corporate intelligence/relevant contacts for assigned accounts
  • Maintain a pipeline of opportunities and sales status in Salesforce.com
  • Support finance activities for billing and accounts receivable as necessary
  • Collaborate on promotion and production of semi-annual CutterResearch member meetings held in London, New York, and Boston
  • Develop a business case for CutterResearch member meetings in Australia and take the lead role in planning/logistics as meetings are added
  • Communicate on a regular basis with the management team, client services, and sales about client meetings, new client on-boarding, etc.
 

An ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working in the fund's management industry in the technology or operations side

Business Analyst – SimCorp Dimension

Cutter Associates, LLC is seeking a Business Analyst with proven organizational, leadership and problem-solving experience to work with leading buy-side investment management and insurance clients. The Business Analyst’s primary objective is to assist our clients with the execution of their strategic initiatives within investment management technology and operations. Successful candidates will possess a variety of analysis techniques and proven experience in delivering projects on time and within budget.

Candidates can live anywhere in the continental U.S. Candidate should have at least five years of financial services business analysis experience and must possess the following functional and technical skill sets:

Functional Skills

  • Investment Accounting, Investment Operations and/or Data experience, preferably buy-side asset management
  • Understanding of fixed income markets; understanding of treasury operations is a plus
  • Detail oriented with experience performing complex reconciliation tasks and test scripts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively across the organization to various audiences, both business and technical. Collaborative work approach.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex business processes, requirements and problems and formulate business and/or technical solutions – including utilization of data analysis as support

Compliance Analyst - Investment Operations

Cutter Associates, LLC is seeking a Compliance Analyst with proven organizational, leadership and problem-solving experience to work with our leading investment management and insurance clients.  The Analyst’s primary objective is to review assigned investment management agreements and extract compliance rules specifications from them, coordinate rule development with BlackRock Systems and test compliance rules.  Responsibilities also include assisting in identifying and implementing business process improvements in support of the daily processing.

Candidates can live anywhere in the continental U.S - current opportunity is based in the Midwest.  Candidate should have at least five years of financial services business analysis experience and must possess the following functional and technical skill sets.

Technical Skills

  • Lead, monitor, and manage the daily handling of Overnight Compliance in Green Package and/or Aladdin

  • Lead, monitor, and manage Pre-trade Compliance Violations in Aladdin upon go-live
  • Partner with PMs and External Managers on managing the Waiver Process
  • Assist in the validation of the of the remaining guidelines that will be coded into Aladdin

  • Assist in the drafting of Policies and Procedures

Functional Skills

  • At least three (3) years of investment adviser experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly state and actively advocate well-informed opinions

  • Experience partnering successfully with business and investment colleagues and aptitude for working effectively in a large organization

  • Demonstrated analytical skills and experience absorbing and processing regulatory developments

Consultant (US)

Cutter Associates is looking to hire Consultants who have 5- 10 years of direct experience in technology solutions and operations within an asset manager or within the investment division of other financial services-type companies.

A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in investment management operations and technology in one or more of the following areas:
    • front-office to back-office processes or systems
    • system selection and implementation
    • data management, data warehousing, architecture, and reporting
    • trade generation, order management, trade communications, settlements, and portfolio accounting

Senior Analyst - Investment Operations Research and Benchmarking

Cutter Associates is seeking a senior candidate to become an integral part of our Research and Benchmarking Team, which keeps asset management firms up to speed with the most current information on investment systems, operations, strategy, and industry best practices. Responsibilities include developing compelling research and benchmarking studies on a variety of topics related to asset management operations and technology, and communicating analysis and trends in written reports, presentations, and client interactions. This position will be based in our Hingham, MA office.

Key responsibilities of the position include the following:

  • Interface with software vendors, industry experts, and senior operations and IT staff of leading asset management firms.
  • Produce in-depth, high quality research and benchmarking reports on a broad set of topics related to asset management systems and operations.
  • Create and deliver presentations at Cutter conferences and industry events
  • Develop benchmarking surveys, compile results, and produce client reports

Senior Business Analyst

Cutter Associates LLC is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for its growing Implementation Services practice.  The Business Analyst’s primary objective is to help our clients implement investment management technology solutions in a cost-effective way using a variety of analysis techniques and project delivery practices.

Candidates can either be based in the continental U.S. and should have should have at least five years of financial services business analysis experience with exposure to any of the following business processes:

  • investment risk and exposure reporting
  • portfolio management and trading
  • compliance monitoring
  • confirmation/settlement and derivative servicing and/or
  • investment recordkeeping/accounting.

 

Familiarity with investment management vendor applications is desired (E.g. Aladdin, Bloomberg AIM, Charles River IMS, LineData, Eagle Star/Pace, Market EDM/Cadis, BI-SAM, SimCorp Dimension).

Candidates should have experience analyzing business processes, developing business and functional requirements, functional testing and working as part of both agile and non-agile software development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with project technical and business leads to define business case, document statement of work and set key milestones.
  • Elicit and analyze requirements from project managers, traders, operations, data management and risk professionals using a variety of methods (interviews, process documentation, surveys, and workshops). Propose improvements to workflows, as appropriate.
